La negra y la rubia: reescritura, discurso colonial y literatura infantil

Abstract

In this article the text “La Negra y la Rubia” by the Costa Rican writer Carmen Lyra is analyzed, with the purpose of determine the way she rewrites the text “La cenicienta” from Charles Perrault, and also to observe the presence of topics of a colonial speech that reproduces cultural stereotypes oriented to represent the reality in a schematic way. First of all, Carmen Lyra is located in infantile Costa Rican literature; moreover, the presence of folklore in literature is discussed. As a second term, is analyzed the variants of the colonial speech that appear in the text emphasizing in the religious and racial speech. Finally, the relationship of this text with infantile literature is studied, specifically, with the conditional details that tend to reproduce a preestablished structure in the elaboration of the texts for the infantile audience.En esta breve investigación se analiza el cuento “La negra y la rubia” de la escritora costarricense Carmen Lyra, con el objetivo de determinar el modo como la autora reescribe el texto “La cenicienta” de Charles Perrault, así como observar la presencia de tópicos de un discurso colonial que reproduce estereotipos culturales orientados a presentar la realidad en forma esquemática. Primeramente, se ubica a Carmen Lyra en la literatura infantil costarricense y se aborda el tema de la presencia del folclore en la literatura. En un segundo momento, se analizan las variantes del discurso colonial que emergen en el cuento objeto de estudio, enfatizando en el discurso religioso y en el racial. Finalmente, se efectúa la relación de este texto con la literatura infantil, y en forma específica, con los condicionantes que tienden a reproducir una estructura preestablecida en la elaboración de los cuentos destinados al público infantil.
