El arpa y la sombra, la Conquista y la construcción del espacio americano

Abstract

En este artículo, se analiza, en primer lugar la construcción que del espacio americano ha realizado la imaginación europea en textos literarios de diversas épocas. Se presta atención a los relatos escritos por los cronistas del Nuevo Mundo a partir del siglo XVI. En segundo lugar, el estudio se dedica a la constitución espacial que efectúa Alejo Carpentier en la novela "El arpa y la sombra". Se insiste en la parodización, eje estructurante de la obra carpenteriana, en tanto recurso para deconstruir los estereotipos europeos acerca de la representación de América Latina.In this article it is analyzed, in the first place, the construction that of the American space has made the European imagination in literary texts of diverse times. Special attention is paid to the stories written by the chroniclers of the New World from the XVIth. century. Secondly, the study is dedicated to the analysis of the space constitution that Alejo Carpentier carries out in the novel El arpa y la sombra. It is insisted on the parodization, structuring axis of the Carpenterian work, in as much resource to deconstruct the European stereotypes about the representation of Latin America.
